Funerals and Thanksgivings

God is gracious to us in giving us precious people to share life’s journey with. However there is nothing more certain than that one day we will all die: for most it will be after a reasonably long life. Sadly, occasionally death comes prematurely and tragically.

At Trinity we have lots of experience in helping and supporting people and families through bereavement and we would be privileged to come alongside you at this sad time.

Part of our approach is to make the service one of thanksgiving and to centre it upon the person and their legacy to us. So liturgy does not play a large part and the service can be what you want and need it to be.

Hopefully we can thank God for the life and legacy of our loved one and receive that legacy of character and grace into our lives, so they live on in us. Often today many go for a Committal first and then a Thanksgiving service but it is entirely your choice.

As Christians we also believe that death is but the gateway to a richer and fuller life with God for all eternity. Trinity would like to support you and we would encourage you to contact the church on 0191 285 6130 and Pastor David or another member of the Pastoral Staff will be available to meet with you, answer your questions and discuss arrangements.

Our Catering Manager, Gill Knight, and Centre Manager Chris Lincoln will also happily talk with you about refreshments to follow such an occasion.
