The Pastor - David Bedford

Pastor David is married to Lorna and has two daughters, Megan and Lydia.

'Missionaries' from the south, they love Newcastle and the North-East and believe God has called them to equip the contemporary church to make the Saviour known in new dynamic ways.

David's ministry gifts are in the area of Pastor and Prophet. He loves to care for people into maturity and speak out God's word into lives, churches and the nation.

Lorna's gifts lie in the area of creativity, encouragement and getting people connected and involved.

Together they are committed to leading Trinity into becoming a large dynamic congregation on Gosforth High Street, where people are becoming Christians daily, and where all are welcome whatever their stage in their spiritual journey to be part of the Church of Ragged Edges!

Pastoral Evangelist - Peter Waugh

Peter is married to Jane, has a daughter, Lynn, and two grandchildren, Emily and Jack. His career background lies in the Civil Service where for 27 years he enjoyed a wide variety of non-standard jobs, culminating in middle-management in the area of government policy and legislation on National Insurance.

In 1997 he side-stepped into private industry, working until 2003 as a trainer and course-developer for the Institute of Payroll Professionals (as it is now styled). He became the pastoral evangelist, a new lay role at Trinity, in July 2004.

Converted to Christ in December 1965, Peter immediately heard the call to preach and has been an active layman and preacher of good news ever since. He has participated in several evangelistic missions around the UK over the years – from rural Cornwall to inner city Bradford. He maintains his passion to see men and women find salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and enter into a life of discipleship and Christian service.

Peter’s role in Trinity is twofold. First, to assist with the delivery of pastoral care to the congregation. Secondly, to be a catalyst for outreach and evangelism by seeking ways to envision, encourage and enable God’s people do what all Christians are called to do – lead people to the Saviour. And, of course, by doing a bit of that himself!

Community Worker - Mary Bellshaw

My ministry background is Salvation Army. I spent 25 years as an Officer (full time minister), largely in and around Glasgow before serving in England and Wales.

Through the Salvation Army I was able to work and minister within a wide variety of communities, meeting people's human needs in a practical and spiritual way.

One of the most enjoyable opportunities was setting up The Red Shield work at Whittington Barracks near Lichfield.

Following retirement from active service in 2004, I moved to Newcastle. Having been drawn to the worshipping community here at Trinity Gosforth, I found space and time to discern what God had in store for me as part of His bigger plan.

After working in Marks and Spencer, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me to serve as Church Community Worker at Trinity. Here I am able to use my experience and passion to see people come to a living relationship with Jesus and to serve people where they are at, in the name of Jesus.

Some of the early opportunities have pointed towards partnership working; becoming involved with other projects who are seeking to improve community life. It is my experience that it is equally important to establish links which have a corporate involvement whilst establishing and building on relationship with individuals.

About me, I enjoy music, reading and meeting with friends and ensuring that my two handsome sons don't forget their old mum!

It is my prayer and hope that together we will live the love of Jesus in our community.
