Centre Manager

Trinity Church and Centre is looking to employ a new

Centre Manager

who will be based at Trinity Church offices, Gosforth

About the Trinity Centre 

 
Mission – to create safe, appropriate, and affordable spaces that benefit the Church and the local community.     
 
Trinity Centre is a vibrant community hub occupying a unique position, incorporating Trinity Church, in the heart of Gosforth High Street, with great local shops, a lovely park and easy access by bus and Metro. This is a successful local business offering space to hire for events, conferences, fitness activities and for other community groups.  
 
The Centre, which also contains a separately managed, Caffe 1901 Deli, hosts more than 100 groups each week, with rental spaces of varying sizes, involving all ages from babies to the elderly. 
 

About the role 

 
The Centre Manager has responsibility for maximisation of revenue and the identification of new revenue streams, as well as the daily running of the Centre and management of four staff and several volunteers in support roles.     
 

About the person 
 

The post holder will be a team player with strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills and a real commitment to the development, mission, and the aims of Trinity Centre. 
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven customer focused manager who is well organised, has experience of managing staff and volunteers and ideally experience of running a community-centred organisation. 
 
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will be sympathetic to the ethos and values of the Christian Church. 
 

The package 

 

  • The salary/rate of pay  will be:    28,000-£30,000 per year FTE.  Actual salary £20,906 to £22,400  

  • Normal working pattern:   28 hours per week across 4 days with some flexibility required for evening/weekend work. 

  • All reasonable expenses will be reimbursed and a small allowance given for on-going training.   

  • There is a contributory pension scheme to which eligible lay employees will be auto-enrolled. Lay employees who do not meet the auto-enrolment criteria are eligible to join the scheme subject to certain provisions. 

  • 25 days annual leave entitlement per year + bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees).  

  • Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced  Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) disclosure. 

  • Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references. 

  • Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of  a six-month probationary period.

We're hiring a Youth Worker!

The Newcastle Central and East Circuit

of the Methodist Church

is seeking to appoint a

Youth Worker

who will be based at Trinity Church, Gosforth

 

Trinity Church is a welcoming, inclusive, and intergenerational Church in a great location on Gosforth High Street in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join Trinity’s team of staff and volunteers to support their ministry with young people (aged 11-19).

 

You will support young people in the Church on their journey of faith and discipleship; you will support the Church leadership in keeping young people at the heart of the Church community; and you will participate in the Church’s outreach to young people in the neighbourhood, especially developing contact with local schools.

 

This part-time role (20 hours per week) would suit someone starting out on a career in youth work, or someone with a heart for young people who wants to do youth work alongside part-time study, voluntary work, or caring. The working pattern can be arranged flexibly around the mutual requirements of the Church and the Youth Worker, although Sunday will normally be a working day.

 

Trinity Church is a local ecumenical partnership of the Methodist and United Reformed Churches, both of which have active and supportive networks of youth and children’s work in our region.

 

3 years Fixed Term Contract; 20 hours per week to be worked flexibly by arrangement.

Commencing in August 2022.

Salary: £10,902 - £11,508 depending on experience

 

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a Christian.

The appointment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and satisfactory references.
